no letters from home for a long while now but yesterday I got papers so I presume you are all still living. It came out in orders yesterday that I was lieutenant as from last 1st of July. This means I am about £18 to the good and accordingly I’m pleased with life and full of hope.
We have had another stunt here since I last wrote a small one but successful as far as I can make out though the Turk got away as usual. I cant help thinking that the next real big stunt out here if it ever does take place ought to be decisive, in these parts anyway. If it isn’t it will simply mean it has failed and that the Turk is a more slippery beast than we thought he was. Even if we captured all the country from here to Aleppo and failed to catch the Turkish army I don’t think
