Warm pleasant sunny morning very profitably spent

4th December 1915 Saturday

Divisional Inspection off to Monday. Warm pleasant sunny morning very profitably spent on the East bank of the Galiko River washing parade. Put in my time there taking a riding lesson from Bloore on Anderson’s horse. Quite safe if undignified. Off once. Spent 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon at a Riding Class by McNee on Cpt Dempster’s old anaimal. Have arranged with Bloore for tomorrow for a ride, but do not know if it will come off as he is Orderly officer.
Two Battalion Tournament matches played off No 1 Platoon.1 No 8. 0 No 13. 3 No 5. 1
Glorious weather all day.
Turned in early after a chat with Dempster in which he told us that Hilditch had come in with the information that 300 cases of jaundice and 200 of frostbite from the 10th Division had arrived here. More rumours of ultimatums and other things.
Paid Smellie mess bill 9.50 yesterday. The second day I have been on parade for 9 days!!!
