I’m very sorry to hear you didn’t get your appointment and I do think the people who work these things must be a thoroughly dirty lot.
I expect to be with you by the 6th of next month but might possibly get home a week earlier if all goes well. I’m feeling very strong so if you have any jobs to be done keep them till I get back.
At present we are having a very easy time training and hope to continue here indefinitely though I wouldn’t be sorry to go somewhere where we had more work to do. Training is no doubt very good for you but it is a tedious and thankless business as you never get more than about half your men at one time.
