[Feb 27th 1916] night’s journey. The first news is that we leave tomorrow afternoon and not on Tuesday. Bustle and work follow. Medical arrangements, Officers mess and my private equipment need their final touch of completion and keep me employed. I was surprised to recieve a wire this afternoon that Harry was arriving in Peshawar with the 15th Sikhs at 4pm I thought he was in Egpt. I hastened to the railway station to meet him. He arrived fit and well with the remnants of the battalion. Only 53 of the original regiment return to India. The 1/5th Gurkhas arrived later in the day.
