[25th February [?1918]] but not too hot.
I went up on top of the hills to see what it was like. Up there is a great flat plain with here and there patches of flowers later on of course desert.
The wind is always blowing up there and the day I was up it looked quite like the sea with dust devils blowing over it instead of squalls.
There is the remains of a fight up there too German and English cartridge cases lying about hundreds of native tents bits of motor cars & tyres slashed with knives old tins and bits of iron of all kind and an old bedstead standing on end which howls like a jackal in the wind.
