The flood is still up though it has reached its height

[14th September [?1917]] niggers fell upon them grabbing handfuls & throwing them out & hundreds crowding out on the bank.
In about 5 minutes we had about ¾ of a big petrol tin full of lovely fry something bigger than minnows. If we had had a net we could have got a cart load.
The flood is still up though it has reached its height & I think is inclined to fall.
When it does there ought to be lots of sport as the feeding should be the best & there must be hundreds of pools where the ducks live. At present they are here in huge flocks flying about in the middle of the flood.
