The English papers do not know where Kitchener went to

25th November 1915 Thurs

Battalion day. Attack on wood W.S.W. of here, quite well worked. 14 Platoons on Divrs incl [?]duties supplementing C Coy. Bloore still ill, with stomach trouble, so I took ?13. Weather cloudy but fine, cool but not so much difference between day and night temperature as a week ago.
Big mail in at last. Alice, Wilfie and a parcel and note from Tommy. Bad news of grandfather’s health. Wilfrid [?]warned for duty in France. Home Final Leave 1-3 Nov. Am sorry that he is not coming to these parts as it pretty well quashes the chance of seeing him if I get home.
Rewritten Wilfie’s letter and written Tom.

Turn in early.
