The first few days were occupied in the usual manner after arrival at a new place. The headquarters of the various departments have to be discovered. I have to discover the best arrangements to obtain a regular supply of rations, of ice, of sodawater for the mess. The bazaar must be explored to see what can be foraged there. Things gradually plan out but cause some worry before they run smoothly.
