The Bulgars and Turk have had a difference of opinion

5th January [1916]

Handed over picquet to Cross. 13 prisoners
Promised by Anderson that Bloore and I should go out reconnoitering but unable to raise two horses this morning, so it fell through. Knocked about camp all day and walked up to the top of one of the neighbouring hills. Long talk with Middlemas Brigade Intelligence Officer in which he told us that the Bulgars are expected to attack here in a fortnight, that the Bulgars and Turk have had a difference of opinion expressing itself in a massacre and free fight and sundry other news.
Quiet evening
Mess profiting in eggs thanks to Bloore’s arrangements. Wrote Miss Bruce.
