So far though we have dug winter quarters

26th November [1916] Sunday

Took second watch last night. Issued some very [?] trench orders and generally reorganized the defences. These trenches were to have been the Regimental winter quarters and pass from Coy to Coy. So far though we have dug winter quarters in about six places we have nowhere to lay our heads. At 4 pm orders came for the trenches to be relieved by 77 Bde tonight. Sat up till midnight waiting for the relief and cursing luck.
