Rested and fed there and moved again towards Moravca

27-29th November [1916]

Relieved 10am and marched out to Kalinova. Hale lost his way with the rearguard and lost me my lead and about an hour. Finally joined the battalion 4.40 am and had to march again at once. Marched to Hirsova 11am. Rested and fed there and moved again towards Moravca in the Gola Ridge halting for the night about midnight, off again practically without sleep 6am.
Tuesday 28th Marching to Suevce. Halted 10 am for breakfast to find the ASC had lost the rations. Finally the men got [?] out after marching 20 hours out of 33. Ordered out to view the ground at 1pm and battalion moved 2pm to Baisili, reaching there about 4 – 22 hours out of 39. Moved again 6 pm and drew up at Quatre Chemins at 1 this morning. Off again 6 am, reaching the position about 8 – 31 out of 55 on the road a record, for even this hard working brigade – devilish heavy work with all your winter kit on your back.
