Quiet times again in camp; less excitement even than before our contest with the Arabs, as the sniping at night has now ceased. The removal of this annoyance is one of the minor, secondary benefits of our attack.
All our wounded are progressing most favourably. Conditions were not so disadvantageous to the healing of wounds as are found in other theatres of the war. The men were in hospital within reasonable time; they were not utterly fatigued; they were not engrimed with dirt and the desert sand must be more surgically clean than the cultivated soil of France or Flanders.
