20 August [1916] Sunday
Quiet night. We take things much quieter here now having found out that the Scotch evidently had the wind up or they would not have troubled with such precautions. One group of [?]11 + 1 NCO in the trench by night, the next sleeping in bivouacs or dug out and by day no look out as the O.Pip commands all the view. Now that the enemy artillery however takes so much more interest in our doings than they need and especially since they have had a very fine balloon up, we have had to do any work at night.
No post. No news.
