The Turk officer then had to sort us out by asking each in turn if we were “Allemand” or “Inglis” amidst a general uproar of laughter! We packed up early on the 14th of June, ready to start, but our transport did not turn up in time, so our departure was postponed till 5 p.m. The railway over the or Anti Taurus Mountains was not completed, but a light railway for constructional purposes was nearing completion. We were informed that our journey that night would be of 8 hours duration to the foot hills; however, we marched all night and reached HASAN BEGLIE at 4 a.m. next morning.
