Nothing to do except watch the spasmodic bombardment

13th August 1916 Sunday

Slept till 8.30 from 1am. Getting arrears off now!
Very quiet day. Nothing to do except watch the spasmodic bombardment of the enemy lines. Very hot.
85 men of the Company to go away tomorrow to form the SA. Ammunition Column – that will leave us a fine army.
Named 10pm for the Piton des Zouaves O.PiP. 5am tomorrow with one corporal. Fine chase round looking for rations.
