Dear Mother

I’m afraid it is a long time since I wrote last however better late than never. Lawrence is off to India today. Mesopotamia I suppose eventually. I have heard nothing about a move yet.
I have been leading a very strenuous life lately as a big draft arrived here & for three or four days I censored about 400 letters a day they have mostly gone now & I have peace again.
I was playing tennis the last two days but haven’t yet found anybody as good as myself though there are some lovely players here mostly Frenchmen.
I have been playing billiards too a couple of times & also inspected the museum.
In it there are all sorts of Greek Roman & Egyptian remains also the same old arrow heads. Some of the statues look very good mostly of tough looking Romans a lot of nice little figures too would rather put Carré in the shade.
Mummies too cat crocodile bird and man all equally dull & uninteresting to me.
