Jones here with dysentery.

25 September 1916 Monday

Hear from Bloore in the morning by letter that he had got off to Blighty by Saturday’s boat. This afternoon’s meeting therefore off.
Went into town alone – walked in. Met Sutton L. 7s and went up to the Wounded Information Bureau where I looked up the Regt. Cross in Malta with gunshot wounds. Pretty quick work as he was still away on leave when I left. Jones here with dysentery. Two others in with shellshock who had not joined the Regiment when I left! Things move rapidly. Brigade reported as having lost 800 men in some show.
Had tea and came out by gharry. Big Salonika mail in. Moved to downstairs ward. Paid tailor for breeches by cheque.
