Jameson asked to resign his commission

14th January 1916

Exceedingly cold morning with cold wind. Parade 8.40 carry on as yesterday making road [?] Pirnar to [?].
Returned to camp to find the draft arrived from 16th Kings the officers being Mallory and Humphreys whom we left in England and Parry a stranger. Much news of other old friends. Austin in France. Gray earning distinction in R.F. Corps. Hillman in R.E. at Chatham. Edison, Bellamy and Bevan in the 15th Kings next to come out. McCorkindale, Jennison, Counsell in the Young Officers Corps at Whitchurch. Jenkins in Eastbourne having been sacked from the R.F.C. for dishonoured cheques, and in danger of being brought back from there under escort. Jameson asked to resign his commission for playing the fool. Sir John Sinclair and Tallow still in the 15th Kings. Davis in the Young Officers School, as Gregson. Very interesting to hear where everyone is. Col Wilson on half pay, and returned to civil life. [?] Hardner going about town with five wounded limps.
Long chat with Mallory who stayed for dinner.
Slight rain when turning in.
