was expected to arrive at Peshawar on Sunday next and we were to leave on the following Tuesday. As a cosequence we must curtail our visit to Abbatrabad. We intend to leave at 3pm tomorrow and thus reach Peshawar early on Sunday morning. I succeeded in finding at the Abbatrabad Library a few ancient volumes relating to Mesopotamia and the ruined cities of Babylon, Ninerah and Persepolis. They give an interesting idea of the country to which we are going. Col. Johnson came to see me this afternoon.I spent the rest of the day with him engaged in afternoon tea, dinner and a long interchange of philosophical thought and speculation.
