[5 March 1917] my pen has been behaving very badly of late, which is a great annoyance to me – I think it must be the nib that is bad I must try to get it changed.
I wonder have you had any decent weather yet. Yesterday was a beautiful cloudless day – but last night & this morning it snowed again and everything is more or less slush. Still any way it’s quite warm. I hope I duly thanked for all the parcels – Em’s with the jelly etc was topping and much appreciated – but I think I wrote to her direct about that – I see from my diary that I wasn’t out on a bike at all on the 10th so Willie Eager must have been mistaken. I wonder who he saw.
