Dear Mother
I am now back in comparative civilization though some poor fellows are still chasing the Turk up north they must be very tired of it by now but not nearly as tired as the Turk must be which is some consolation.
I had a great view of the battle from where I was on the main day when we crumpled up the Turkish left and the next day too.
Except for an hour or so at the start it never was all that exciting to watch.
At the start there was a lot of morning mist which prevented our guns being used effectively as they didn’t know the country well enough.
