[22 March 1917] I’m delighted to here you strafed the Olivers they thoroughly deserved it.

I too was very sorry to see Lady Wicklow’s death in the paper – everyone seemed to like her so much.

I think though this is I fear rather a feeble letter, still I’ll not continue the character sketches til next – I certainly wish there was a chance of leave but I’m afraid nothing doing & who knows – the war may be over before the end of the year!
