Now that I have grown accustomed to the people, I can discern the various races that go to compose this motley population. By far the most numerous are the Arabs, none can mistake their big, clumsy bodies, their loose and gay attire, their jabbering talk, deep set eyes, overhanging lids and cruel lacivious faces. Intermingled with them are many Persians whom by their more sleek build, neat clothing, fine cut features and quiet dignified appearance, give an air of respectability to the crowded streets.
