My dearest,
Did you ever get a letter from written by the moonlight. This is one. A very long day has brought me to the desolate & famous spot. In charge of a “little fatigue party” I have just got a tent. I didnt expect it & thought I should be sleeping in the open. It feels rather like a picnic or a return to Canada. The snow is on the ground yet the air is mild. This is miserable moonlight. I dont know when this will get to you. Willey said hed look in tomorrow so he will be able to take it home. Good night O Dearie. Am sleepy. Am sitting on my tin hat a good seat. P
