[c. June 1916] The gardens all about here are in great style now wonderful purple & red creepers Snapdragons stocks & best of all green grass. I expect the creeper over the drawing room should be in great form now & I’m sure the whole place is looking lovely & fresh. I wonder are many trout on the move in the dam yet.
I got strawberries here one day but they were no good quite tasteless.
Another Trinity chap I knew well is here now so I expect we’ll have him playing tennis soon.
I got two letters from you since with two of Robbies included. I’m sorry to hear you were not well I expect the summer should buck you up.
I see they have the Countess Markievitch locked up for good. I hope they don’t let her out again.
I see Robbie thinks he has a chance of leave. I hope [he] gets a decent one but don’t suppose he will. Anyway the summer is before him which must be [a] great blessing.
Glad to hear Pa is playing croquet & you are thinking of tennis again.
