Away from India at last and now on the open sea. After breakfast I entrained with the right wing of the battalion and moved off to the docks. Disentrained, embarked on the British Coy. Steamship “Ekma”, an excellent ship, very comfortable for us but space cramped for the men. A ship alongside is a German capture and is now discharging 1200 mules for the Argentine. The 45th Sikhs accompany us on the voyage. They embarked in the afternoon and seem a strong battalion with good officers.
