We’ve always thought the Berkeley was a pretty stylish place, where all the cool kids hang out. Hence we were delighted when FRANC magazine asked about featuring us in the Fall 2017 edition of their publication. This led to the great video and images below, where fashion is showcased against the Library.

As you can see from the FRANC website, they really used the Berkeley as a backdrop for this edition – look at all our Berkeley concrete framing the items available to purchase:
The issue was then launched at a fantastic event in November. There are plenty of photos on the FRANC website, but you can get a feel for it from the shot below:
The main speaker was Joe Caslin, who is well-known as an artist of giant, thought-provoking murals (including one last year in Trinity).
The driving force behind FRANC, CEO and Editor in Chief, is Briony Somers. Now a Trinity graduate, she co-launched FRANC in 2015 and was recently listed by the Irish Independent as one of “the most exciting Irish business stars under 30“. As a history student she spent much of her time in the Berkeley, and another link to us is that FRANC was assisted by the Blackstone LaunchPad, located in our foyer, which offers an experiential entrepreneurship programme open to Trinity students, alumni, staff and faculty.
