Getting Help Online

How to get help and support from us throughout your time in Trinity.

IT Services are here to help you with all your IT related questions during your time in Trinity. Below we have outlined a few of the different ways in which you can; find information, contact us, or partake in some online learning.

The first port of call for help using any of the facilities provided by IT Services is here on our website at tcd.ie/itservices.

We have an extensive knowledge base that has information on everything you need to get up and running; from connecting to the Wi-Fi, to getting your username and password for the first time.

IT Service Desk

The IT Service desk is available to provide IT support Monday - Thursday, 9.00am - 5.30pm and Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.

They are contactable via one of the following methods:

Using your Trinity username and password, you can log on to the ask.tcd.ie portal to raise IT related enquiries with the IT Service Desk. Your ticket will be assigned to one of our service desk professionals who will follow up with you via email or phone to tackle your issue.

Alternatively, you can also email itservicedesk@tcd.ie which will automatically create a ticket for you in the ask.tcd.ie portal.

Call the Service Desk

Webchat

Chat to an IT service desk agent via our online Webchat service. Just fill out the form with your name, Trinity email address, student number and you'll be put in touch with a member of our team in a matter of minutes.

If you are not connected to the College network (either on campus or via VPN), you will be prompted to input your College Username and Network Login Password before being given access to the Webchat form.

By in-person appointment at the helpdesk

In situations where we are unable to resolve your issue by one of the above methods, a member of the IT Service Desk team will arrange an in-person appointment at the IT Service Desk.

Due to current restrictions relating to Covid-19, these appointments will only be offered when your issue cannot be resolved by any of the above methods.

There will be strictly no drop-in service available until further notice.
