We will be updating Internet Explorer to version 11

As part of keeping your data and Trinity IT systems safe and secure, IT Services will be actively updating Internet Explorer to version 11 from this Thursday, 23rd March on all PCs connected to the Trinity network in offices and labs.

This work comes as a result of Microsoft discontinuing security updates for older versions (prior to version 11) of Internet Explorer.  Thus, using an older version of IE represents a risk to the security of your data and the safety of the IT systems you're connecting to while using IE.

The vast majority of PCs running Windows are already running IE 11 in offices and labs.  Those PCs which will be updated will experience no disruption.

In the unlikely event that you experience any issues accessing services through Internet Explorer following a version update then you can try using another supported web browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari, or try following the steps below to add the affected site(s) to your list of Trusted Sites and/or update your Compatibility View settings in Internet Explorer:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose Tools (cog icon) – Internet Options.
