Support for Microsoft Vista ending in April 2017
From 11th April 2017, Microsoft will be ending their extended support for Windows Vista. After this date, they will no longer provide security updates for the Windows Vista operating system.
What does this mean?
This means that any networked computer within Trinity which is running Windows Vista after 8th April is at a higher risk of infection with malware or other security exploits and so will be representing a risk to your data and to the Trinity data network.
In order to keep the Trinity data network safe and secure for all connected staff and students, IT Services will be phasing out support for Windows Vista in the coming months. Any computers running Windows Vista will no longer be able to connect to various Trinity network services.
What do I do if I'm running Windows Vista on my computer?
Over the next few weeks, we will contact staff and students running Windows Vista on their computers and will continue to do so leading up to the dates where we can no longer provide support.
We have put together a Windows Vista Support Statement webpage which will help you prepare.
