End of Support for Windows 7 - Thank You
On 14th January 2020, Microsoft ended support for Windows 7, which meant that no software security updates were available for this operating system after this date.
Continuing to run Windows 7 PCs on the Trinity network would have posed a significant security risk to Trinity data and IT Systems, which is why IT Services formally began work to arrange for the Windows 7 decommission in summer 2018.
Over the past 18 months, approximately 4,000 PCs have been upgraded to Windows 10 or replaced. This could not have been achieved without the help of members across all areas of College, who worked collaboratively with us throughout the process.
We would like to thank all staff and students around Trinity for their assistance in replacing or upgrading their Windows 7 PCs. We appreciate the time and effort you put into this project.
The move to Windows 10 means that we are all working in a more secure IT environment, and it allows us to make use of more modern productivity, security and management tools.
