Blackboard Ally – Module Content Accessibility Helper
16 March 2021
IT Services, in collaboration with the Trinity Disability Service, recently launched the Blackboard Ally accessibility feature within Trinity’s Blackboard Learn virtual learning environment. This feature was introduced to make online content in Blackboard as accessible as possible for all Trinity students.
Blackboard Ally allows you to download alternative formats of the default files uploaded within your modules in Blackboard. These include HTML, tagged PDF, ePub, audio mp3, and electronic braille, and can be accessed via the Blackboard Ally alternative file formats icon to the right of each file in your module.
Blackboard Ally also helps module instructors improve the accessibility of the content they upload to their modules by providing them with an accessibility score and step-by-step instructions on how to make the files more accessible.
