Accessing Software Off Campus via MyTrinityApps
There is a wide variety of software that Trinity students and staff have access to via the MyTrinityApps platform.
While MyTrinityApps is mainly used to supply popular academic software to the computer rooms on campus, it is also available for use on your own device. The platform works best on PCs, but offers Mac owners a web portal where they can download software directly.
As the College is currently closed, we have negotiated with our software suppliers to make it easier for staff and students to access some important software that is restricted by license. The following exceptions have been made:
- ArcGIS have provided access to 1-year licences for over 60 students and staff since 15 March with 100 new licence codes supplied from ESRI for further requests
- Stata, which is only available on campus under normal circumstances, have agreed to provide a 3-month temporary off campus licence for students in the Department of Economics
- SimBio Virtual Labs have given permission for users of this software to distribute an installation download web page for the rest of term, which has enabled students to complete assignments off campus
We have also increased the options available for some software that have previously only been available on College computers, so that students and staff can access them off campus. These include ArcGIS 1 Year Licence, AutoCAD for Students, Mathlab for Students, Mathematica for Students, Minitab for Students (30-day trial), ArcGIS Desktop 10.7, SPSS Licence link, SPSS Statistics download for Mac, PC and Linux, and ChemDraw.
Please note that Mac owners are given web links to software for direct install and options to download SPSS products for macOS and the SPSS License link.
