Some users unable to view Panopto content on Blackboard
Since this issue arose on the 2nd June, IT Services have applied a global workaround setting for Panopto which now allows staff and students to access their Panopto recording content on the Chrome and Edge web browsers by clicking on a new sign-in and view video button when accessing the Panopto content within Blackboard modules.
Panopto are continuing to work on a permanent fix to the underlying issue.
We are aware of an issue that some students and staff are experiencing when trying to access or view Panopto content within Blackboard, where they have been automatically signed out of Blackboard.
This is a global issue that seems to affect newer versions of Chrome and Edge on Windows computers and Android devices.
Panopto USA have reported that they are aware of the issue and are working on a solution.
As a workaround for those who have come across this issue, we encourage you to download, install and use Firefox on these devices to view or access Panopto video content. If you experience the same issue on the latest version of Chrome on a Mac, then please use Safari or Firefox to access Panopto.
