IT Services has received reports of a spoof email in circulation that is targeting the Provost’s Office or appearing to come from the Provost or other staff in Trinity. Please ignore this email should you receive it as it is fraudulent and is part of a well-known phishing scam that has been going around Trinity and other Universities. The “Request” is often followed by an email asking the target for Amazon or other online retailers’ gift cards. The email should be deleted. If you have replied to this email please report it to the IT Service Desk at the earliest opportunity. An overview of the email content is provided below. If you would like to know more about phishing attempts please see our overview of phishing.
