Staff email 'quarantine' will now list blocked malware
Before arriving in your inbox, all staff email is filtered for spam and malware.
As of 28th July 2022, any malware sent to your email address will appear in your Microsoft 365 'quarantine'.
Quarantined emails are kept for 15 days and are then permanently deleted.
If the service quarantines an email sent to you, then after three days you will receive an email notification from quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com with the subject "Microsoft 365 security: You have messages in quarantine".
An example of one of those emails is provided below.
If the email contains malware, you will have the option to:
- Block the sender
- Delete the message
- Preview the message
Another way in which you can view your quarantined emails, is to log in via security.microsoft.com/quarantine.
