IT Services Alerts - RESOLVED: Important information regarding iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina , October 8th
Update: Friday, 25th October 2019, 4:30pm
Please be advised that iPads running iPadOS can now register for the student TCDconnect service and get connected to TCDwifi without the need to change any settings, and by following the normal instructions for connecting iOS devices.
Update: Tuesday, 15th October 2019, 2:15pm
Our initial testing of the new iPadOS for connection to the student Wi-Fi network, TCDwifi, indicates that a change to the Safari settings is required in order to register an iPad running iPadOS: Launch the Settings app, scroll down to ‘Safari’, scroll down to ‘Request Desktop Website’, deselect ‘All Websites’, then close and reopen the Safari app and browse to https://tcdnac.tcd.ie once more to run through the device registration process. Once your iPad is registered for TCDconnect you can go back in to this Safari setting and re-select ‘All Websites’.
Update: Thursday, 10th October 2019, 9:00am
Please be advised that we have completed the testing for macOS Catalina 10.15 for support on the student TCDconnect service, and we can confirm there are no issues registering for and using the student wired and Wi-Fi services.
Update: Tuesday, 8th October 2019, 10:45am
Please be advised that Apple released macOS Catalina for Mac desktops and laptops on Monday 7th October 2019. We request that users with Mac desktops and laptops on the Trinity network or wishing to access central IT services do not upgrade to macOS Catalina until we have completed the evaluation and testing process and have confirmed that there are no issues.
We will post an update here when we can provide support for macOS Catalina.

Please note that Apple will release iOS 13 and iPadOS on Thursday 19th September 2019. IT Services need to test and evaluate these operating systems for compatibility with our student Wi-Fi services and other central IT services before we can provide support for them.
How does this affect me?
We advise students wishing to connect their iOS devices to the student Wi-Fi and wired network services or access central IT services not to upgrade to iOS 13 or iPadOS, until we have completed the testing process.
We will post an update here when we can provide support for iOS 13 and iPadOS.
