Peace Studies Project meets in Innsbruck

prestuge-1After almost three years, the Erasmus Plus PESTUGE project (establishing a graduate curriculum in Peace Studies in Georgia) is now in its final months. The project partners met in Innsbruck in April for a writing workshop, all-partner planning meeting and discussions about future sustainability. Aideen Woods and Gillian Wylie represented ISE.

The meeting took place in the Grillhof, outside Innsbruck, hosted by our partners from the Masters in Peace Studies at the University of Innsbruck. This was a great opportunity to learn more about the programme in Innsbruck and to stay and work in the beautiful setting of the Grillhof.

The PESTUGE project has been very successful. Many Peace Studies modules are now being taught in the four partner universities in Tbilisi, regional training in Peace Studies occurred outside Tbilisi, a Peace Research Institute has been founded in Caucuses University and a number of publications on issues of conflict and peace in the South Caucuses will be coming out in the next months. We hope to build on the good relationships and successes of the project even after PESTUGE ends in September this year.
