Masculinities in Transformation: Two Upcoming Events - 17 October and 12 December 2016

Two up-coming events have been co-organised by Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence, Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity Centre for Gender and Women's Studies, Trinity International Development Initiative and Trinity Long Room Hub.

Dean Peacock's work and activism over the last 25 years has focused on issues related to gender equality, gender-based violence, men and constructions of masculinities, HIV and AIDS, human rights, and social justice. He is also co-founder and co-chair of MenEngage, a global alliance with networks in over thirty countries across the world. In addition, he is an Ashoka Fellow and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town's School of Public Health.

'Engaging Men and Boys in Preventing Men's Violence Against Women: Progress and Challenges'
Dr Michael Flood - Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Wollangong

Dr Michael Flood is an Associate Professor in Sociology and an internationally recognised researcher on men, masculinities, and violence prevention. He has made a significant contribution to scholarly and community understanding of men's and boys' involvements in preventing violence against women and building gender equality. Dr Flood also has had a wide-ranging involvement in education and advocacy related to men, gender, and violence.
