'Ahmed of Jerusalem' Peace Documentary at ISE - Friday November 18th at 14.00 in G15

On Friday November 18th at 14.00 in G15, ISE will host the screening of the documentary 'Ahmed of Jerusalem'. The protagonist of the documentary, Ahmed Maswadeh, will attend the screening, which is to be followed by an open discussion with the audience.

The Documentary 'Ahmed of Jerusalem' was filmed by Anna Hansen and Maiken Lassenas with the generous support of the Dandia Film Scholarship. The film has recently been awarded 'Best Short Documentary' at the 2016 Danish Film Festival and will be used as debate material in several peace education programmes at primary and high school level in various Danish institutes.

Ahmed Maswadeh is a young Palestinian peace and human rights activist who was born and raised in East Jerusalem. Ahmed is currently enrolled as a law student at Birzeit University in the Occupied Territories of the West Bank and is the co-founder of the Jerusalem Art Project, which promotes a better dialogue and understanding between Palestinians and Israelis through art-based, collaborative initiatives.

In 2015, Ahmed joined KIDS4PEACE: a global movement of youth and families, dedicated to ending conflict and inspiring hope in divided societies around the world. At present, Ahmed is actively involved in the K4P international programme 'Dialogue to Action' which engages with young Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas to give them the skills they need to deal with the dire consequences of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, while creating opportunities for change in their respective communities.
