Human Trafficking Books Launched in ISE Dublin

Celebrations were held in ISE Dublin on March 9th to mark the publication of Gillian Wylie's 'The International Politics of Human Trafficking' (Palgrave 2016) and her co-edited book with Dr Eilís Ward of NUI Galway, 'Feminism, Prostitution and the State: The Politics of Neo-Abolitionism' (Routledge, 2017).

Both books deal with issues relating to human trafficking and policy responses to them. The edited book in particular examines why the approach of abolishing demand for prostitution has become such a politically popular way of tackling sex trafficking internationally. Ireland's former Minister for Justice, Mr Alan Shatter, launched the books and spoke critically about the law to criminalise the buying of sex which has just been legislated for in Ireland.

The event brought together lots of colleagues, friends and family for a great celebration of the two books.
