Equality and Diversity Legislation

The Employment Equality Act 1998-2011 and Equal Status Act 2000-2012 protect all students, staff and service users of Trinity College from direct or indirect discrimination across nine grounds: gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, age, race and ethnicity, religion, disability or membership of the Traveller community.

Staff and Students with disabilities are further protected under the Disability Act 2005.

College Equality and Diversity Policy

College has a number of policies underlining its commitment to actively promoting equality and diversity amongst staff and students.

  • Equality Policy, which outlines its commitment to ensuring equality in access and participation in employment, education and services.
  • Dignity and Respect Policy, which supports a respectful work and study environment where all individuals are treated fairly and in a non-discriminatory manner.
  • Code of Practice applying to the Employment of people with a Disability in College, and
  • Accessible Information Policy, which seeks for all information to be available in accessible formats.
