Poetry reading by Sean Borodale - Visiting Writer Fellow in the Oscar Wilde Centre

The School of English is pleased to present a poetry reading by Sean Borodale, Visiting Writer Fellow in the Oscar Wilde Centre, on Wednesday 7 December at 7pm in the Uí Chadhain Theatre in the Arts Building.

Selected as a Granta New Poet in 2012 and one of 2014’s Next Generation Poets, Sean Borodale is also currently Resident Artist & Writer at Bluecoat, Liverpool, and was Creative Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge from 2013-15. Since September 2016 he has been Visiting Writer Fellow in the Oscar Wilde Centre, teaching on the MPhil in Creative Writing.

With strong interests in place and in visual observation, his poetry has been hailed for its energy, originality, and intimacy. His debut collection Bee Journal (2012) which charted the life and work of a hive of bees, was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize and the Costa Book Award in 2013. Human Work (2015) his most recent collection, written whilst cooking, was an Observer poetry book of the month. At this event he will also be reading new poems from his forthcoming collection, which were written under the ground.
