Pioneering system ensures money doesnt follow water down the drainProf Aonghus McNabola, project lead of Dŵr Uisce, has been working with National Trust Cymru and researchers from Trinity and Bangor University on a pioneering heat recovery system at Penrhyn Castle. Results show it reduces energy consumption by 230 kWh per month, equivalent to £1,770 per annum in heat savings.

Cian Kellett, Eoin Burke, Damien Deasy & Adhriaj Sood won the Engineering & Innovation – Technology category with their entry Smart which is an autonomous ramp to provide wheelchair users independent access to rail transportation such as the Dart. Inception Horizon Event March 7th 2020 organised by Professor Laurence GillProfessor Laurence Gill is organising an event entitled Inception Horizon - a celebration of subterranean karst cave systems on Saturday March 7th at 7pm in the Museum Building, TCD. The event aims to reveal and celebrate the natural beauty and importance of karst limestone. It will feature an original commissioned choral work by Norah Walsh (performed by the Mellow Tonics choir which Prof. Gill sings in) that aims to capture the essence of how such intricate subterranean labyrinths are created and shaped by moving water.
