Clare Malone - Senior Occupational Therapist

Biography: Clare is a CORU-registered occupational therapist who holds a B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy from Trinity College Dublin. Clare has been working with the Trinity Disability Service since 2017 and has a wealth of experience in working with students with a broad range of occupational needs.

Clare has a particular interest in neurodiversity and leads on the Disability Service Neurodivergent Project to ensure the continuous development of supports and resources at Trinity as well as to develop initiatives to enhance the experience of students in this cohort. Clare developed a weekly group programme for autistic students to provide a space for autistic students to connect with peers and to support engagement in the everyday activities of the student role. This programme has been running annually since 2018.

Clare has several years’ experience of leading the Disability Service pre-entry and orientation activities. Clare has held responsibility for Disability Service events for prospective students such as the Trinity Open Day, Better Options and DARE Applicant Information Day, as well as coordinating the annual Disability Service pre-orientation event for incoming students.

Clare also has an interest in student partnership and has been involved in initiatives to establish platforms for student empowerment and the representation of the student voice in Disability Service activities. Clare coordinated the Trinity Students with Disabilities Ambassador Programme and has worked closely with the Trinity Ability Co-op since it’s establishment in May 2020.
