This module has a number of principal aims

  • to introduce students to interdisciplinary approaches to the study of history, language, literature, landscape and other aspects of culture and identity.
  • to introduce these interdisciplinary approaches in the Irish context, focusing on the landscapes, peoples, languages, literatures and histories of Ireland.
  • to set this interdisciplinary introduction to Irish culture and civilization within a broader European, Atlantic and global comparative framework.
