Augmented CCAM

European Commission-HORIZON 2020/101069717 (2022-25)

The project aims at augmenting and evaluating the physical and digital Infrastructure for Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM). The vibrant team of researchers strive to drive world-class research around the development of advanced solutions for the automated vehicles of the future in new application areas such as V2X and automated driving.  The project consortium includes 27 partners from both industry and academia from Europe and UK.

The project will understand, harmonise, and evaluate in an augmented manner, adapted and novel support concepts of Physical, Digital and Communication infrastructure (PDI), to advance its readiness for large-scale deployment of Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM) solutions for all.  The project will focus on the assessment of different PDI support on the functional safety of the whole transport infrastructure, traffic safety and efficiency, driving behaviour, environmental footprint, service reliability, trust & security, considering the socioeconomic benefits and costs of all actors, and the issue of roadmap and recommendations, proposing risk-aversion decision making tools and methodologies for policymaking and CCAM - ready infrastructure investments.
