Adjunct Teaching Fellow
Steve Lane is a lifelong educator graduating from St Patricks Training College Drumcondra (now DCU) in 1979. He was awarderd an M.Ed (Hons) in 2006. He worked as teacher and principal in a DEIS primary school until 2014. He has been seconded to the DES as a Strategic Change Facilitator with the SDPS and coordinated an EU YouthStart project focused on the retention in school of marginalised young people.
He teaches on and has co-dveloped several leadership training programmes, originally with the Leadership Development for Schools (LDS), and currently with the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST), Maynooth University, and Mary I. He is in the final year of PhD research, the focus of which is on the role of wellbeing promotion in school/organisational effectiveness.
