Biography

Paul is a senior strategy consultant who brings a wealth of experience working with executives and management teams to develop strategic insights that maximise value creation and capture. He has a strong track record supporting multinational clients in framing, analysing, and resolving major strategic issues.

Paul started his consulting career at Andersen, where he spent 12 years, and became a Director in the Strategy, Finance and Economics division, advising clients on projects concerning competitive strategy, organisational design, disruptive technologies, and performance improvement. He subsequently founded a strategy consultancy, Stratevolve (www.stratevolve.com), leading a broad variety of projects, ranging from short focused strategic reviews through to multi-year strategic digital transformation programmes.

As a recognised strategic management researcher, author and educator, he recently published a strategy book (co-authored with Cliff Bowman) titled, “What’s your competitive advantage?” (Financial Times Publishing, January 2019).

Paul holds a PhD in Strategic Management from Cranfield School of Management, a Masters in Economics with Distinction from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Australian National University. He is also a qualified chartered accountant and practising member of the CA ANZ and ICAEW.

He taught the core strategic management course to EMBAs and FT MBAs at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, from 2019.

Paul’s involvement in executive level post-graduate teaching extends to being a visiting fellow and senior lecturer at Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University, and at Cass Business School, City, University of London.
