
Biography
Ashley O’Donoghue is an experienced Human Resource and Organisation Development professional in both industry and higher education sectors. Demonstrated leadership in the design and implementation of equality strategy and associated actions plans to support diversity and a culture of inclusion. Ashley has worked with diverse stakeholders including senior management, staff and unions to create a vision and shared understanding of the enablers and barriers to equality and diversity and gain active support and commitment for equality initiatives.
Ashley was a recipient of a TCD Business School Teaching Award in 2019/2020. Her research and teaching, coupled with fifteen years industry experience, ensures she delivers evidenced based teaching and practice, developing transferable skills that benefit both individual participants and their organisations. Her research into leadership, employee emotions and wellbeing and engagement at work informed her design and implementation of a Leadership Development and Mentoring Programme for Higher Education, developing inclusive leadership and good management practice.
Ashley is currently Head of Staff Learning & Development at TU Dublin where she proactively supports the University’s Athena SWAN gender audit and the implementation of the recommendations of the HEA Expert Review of Gender Equality in Higher Education (2016) and the Higher Education Gender Action Plan 2018. Ashley is a contributor to professional and educational fora on equality, diversity and inclusion.
